Author Guidelines

Welas Asih Journal of Community Service

1. Types of Articles Accepted

This journal accepts articles related to community service in the health sector, including but not limited to:

  • Original research on community health service programs.

  • Review articles discussing current health-related community issues.

  • Innovative case studies in health-related community service.

  • Community-based health policy development.

2. Submission Format

  • Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  • Article length: 4,000–6,000 words (including abstract, references, tables, and figures).

  • Language: Formal Indonesian, Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.

3. Article Structure

  • Title: Clear, concise, and accurately reflects content. Capitalize only first and key words.

  • Abstract: Max. 250 words; includes objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: 3–5 relevant keywords listed after the abstract.

  • Introduction: Background, objectives, and relevance to community service.

  • Methods: Describes design, population, data collection, and analysis techniques.

  • Results and Discussion: Key findings and discussion with relevant literature.

  • Conclusion: Summary and future recommendations.

  • References: All cited sources listed using APA style.

4. Author Contributions

  • All contributors must be listed with affiliations and valid email addresses.

  • First author = main contributor; clearly identify the corresponding author.

5. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, personal, etc.) that may influence objectivity.

6. Writing Ethics

  • Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.

  • All citations, data, and ideas from others must be properly credited.

  • If the article involves personal data or human subjects, ethical clearance must be obtained and stated.

7. Submission & Review Process

  • All submissions undergo peer review.

  • Submit articles via the journal's online submission system.

  • Articles will be published upon revision based on reviewer/editor feedback.

8. Tables and Figures

  • Must be placed in the text after first mention.

  • Tables numbered with clear titles; use simple, readable formatting.

  • High-quality figures with explanatory captions.

  • Cite sources for any external data/images.

9. Copyright Statement

  • Copyright belongs to the journal; authors retain the right to reuse their work elsewhere with proper citation.

  • Authors must submit a declaration that the manuscript is original and unpublished elsewhere.

10. Article Processing Charges

  • No APC or article processing fees.

11. Article Revision

  • Authors are required to revise according to reviewer comments and submit a response letter detailing changes.

  • Include 20–25 recent references (within the last 10 years).

Manuscript Submission

  1. Submit manuscripts in Word format via the Online Submission tab on the JWA website.

  2. Provide a short biography (full name, academic title, institution, contact info) during registration.

Final Decision

Following peer review, decisions will be communicated via the website. Outcomes:

  • Accepted without revision

  • Accepted with minor revision

  • Accepted with major revision

  • Rejected
